They make units that look like the 5-gallon bottles that you can have delivered by a bottled water company (of course, they're not 5 gallons) I have a 2 or 3 gallon one, which I refill every other day (4 dogs). I suggest that you get one of these, but make sure it's not too big (you don't want the water to get stale). PetCo and PetsMart, sells them. The brand I have is LeBistro. I love it and my dogs have NEVER tipped over.

As a dog owner I will let you in on my secret. Buy an aluminum or stainless steel mixing bowl. Your dog can't destroy it. It will not rust and cleans easy, and you can find them in very large sizes at places like Walmart.
References :
Get one of those big silver ones with the black rubber ring around the bottom so it doesn't slide across the floor. Pet store, Walmart, Target.
References :
I have a big Doberman and bought large crocks from Eddie Bauer years ago and you can clean them with bleach water and they are heavy. You can get them in catalogs, on the Internet and even pet stores carry them or they can order the large ones for you
References :
I've seen these big water containers for cats & dogs at Wal-Mart that distribute water as needed. I'm not sure if it's big enough for your dog but it may lead you to what you may need. Good luck!
