Why does the water turn orange when my dog drinks water from her dog bowl? Should I be worried?

This is my first dog and am just looking for advice not sarcasm.
If there is iron in your dog’s water that could make it appear orangey/red. I have noticed that for years, and my dogs are (knock wood) healthy as horses.
But to be safe, I change their water 2x day so it’s fresh. And at those two times, I rinse the bowls out with piping hot water, wipe out the bowls with a clean paper towel to get rid of any remaining residue — and then I fill each bowl with new, cool water.
- Pets can drink
straight from the stream. - New pre-filter reduces cleaning maintenance, and wear and
tear. - Built-in 1 gallon reservoir makes refills less frequent.
- Dishwasher safe prevents melting and damage.
- The Drinkwell Fountain is designed, approved, and
recommended by veterinarians, particularly for pets prone to urinary
tract disorders.

I think you’d better check out your dogs mouth very carefully. She must be bleeding from the mouth. I can’t think of any other reason the water would change colour.

Check out your dogs gums and throat for bleeding. She is definitely bleeding out of her mouth for sure.

Have you tried changing the bowl? I’ve used stainless steel bowls for my dogs and cats for years and never had any problems.
